I was talking to a very good friend the other day and I was able to vent some of my frustrations and thoughts. When you have a rich history of once having real intimacy with God only to have it hi-jacked by so many of man's own notions and Ideas(and that includes some of my own), you begin to wonder if it is ever possible to find that sweet place in the Lord once again.

My conclusion is this: What once set me on a straight path with the Lord is more than likely what would set me straight again. You see brothers, I don't think that I can ever find my way back to that closeness with Him through any man made ideas or methods. My stomach turns over so much that I see and it repulses me to the point that I just avoid the culture that we currently call "Christian". It's not the people that repulse me. It is the game that I see being played.

To me, it is pure and simple. There was a day when I saw the goodness of God and I saw what I really was before Him and it caused me to fall on my face.
My whole life took an about face after that.

Back to my conversation with my friend: I told him that I thought many of us need purged of the sin that be-sets us all. The sin that causes us to analyze and contemplate or create agendas and yet never take personal responsibility.

I like talking with this friend because I can really bare my soul and He allows all the ugliness to come out as well as what I hope is some insight.

The bottom line is this: We have run out of ourselves. There's nothing left in us that will correct any of this. The admission of that is the starting point. We are not much without Him. With Him we can do "All Things" I once read.

The time has come for the washing of this bastardly disease. It's bastardly because it can make you feel "Fatherless" and we know that is not true.

I'm traveling down this road with a friend and hoping that we will soon come to our day of repentance with the Lord. I can tell you one thing. An honest friendship with at least one true brother in Christ can start the ball rolling. When you start to share things truthfully one to the other then that truthfulness begins to set you free. This probably just applies to me. I don't want any you to take this as my charge to you. I'm just opening up my heart a bit. It's therapy for me sometimes.

Lord Bless You Brothers!

Happy Thanksgiving!
66 books in the Holy Bible.
It's a lifetime learning the written word for some of us.

What are doing? Waiting.

Who or what are we waiting for? The return of Jesus Christ to earth, Guidance every day from the Holy Ghost and if die before He returns, it is the end of this world for us.

Please allow me to continue or please stop reading.

Ezekiel and Jeremiah were contemporaries. In 40 years of preaching, Jeremiah had no converts so I've been told.

Ezekiel was caught up in the heavenly places and his conversations with the Lord were not pleasant as far as eating dung etc. God was trying to get through to His people and we don’t have to understand it all.

We are in this story. We are Christians.
We wait for many things but mainly we want to be like Jesus.

In Terry's metaphor, we are a team and some of us don't even understand the other.

The Lord is getting us ready for heaven. Anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and wants to please Him, pleases His Father.

This is no game. This is war. Our weapons don't operate like the weapons of this world.

Just basic Christianity and asking the Spirit to guide us each day.

The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death.

Our objective in these bodies is to love one another which we have the power to do. A direct command uttered from the lips of the Son of God.

Our generation is coming to an end. We literally have to walk through the word of God as well as ask the Spirit to lead us each day. I have found no other mindset.

Along our journey we will fulfill His will. Moments of perfection and defining moments but using Terry's metaphor, we need God to put us on His mission field and make sure our faith has works to go with it.

We are followers of Jesus Christ in a war in these mortal bodies where the flesh and our inner man are at constant opposition.

Faith, Hope, Love. The way of the cross leads home.God knows what He is doing. The word love was entered in Deuteronomy 22 times. Not before in the preceding books.

A shift in God's plan at that time but only in timimg.

Jesus loves us, this we know. This is not a teach or a rant. I care. That's all. I repeat: I care. Why? Because He cares. Ok, tomorrow is on its way. As Paul said that night in the storm at sea, ”Cheer up, the ship is sinking” No lives were lost.

If Christianity were a Football Game
What would that look like?

Would you be a quarterback, wide receiver, running back, lineman defenseman, coach, cheer leader, in the stands, selling food, or in the parking lot playing?
The scripture says everyone should test themselves Gal.6 3-4 for if you think your something when your not you have been deceived.
We know what football is but what is a Christian? According to God’s word in Acts 11: 26 “the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch”. So one would have to be a disciple of Jesus first, learning and doing what he said, yes?
So it’s a good thing to examine one’s self. Where do you fit in this analogy? Are you in the game, watching from a distance in the stands, out in the concession stand making $$$, playing in the parking lot?
Does going to church, or going to a small group qualify us as disciples and where does that put us in this analogy of Football?
1Cor.11: 27Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
The GOOD NEWS is God LOVES you and wants a relationship with you, a real personal one that allows you to be in the middle of what HE is doing today and not somewhere else in the stands etc. If you haven’t or aren’t experiencing that just ask and you’ll receive.

Good comment, Mike! What will it take for believers to wake up to the corruption of Christianity and reject the Christian label? Certainly it isn't advancing the cause of Christ and his kingdom. If anything, it's a detriment to Christ and his kingdom.

When the Episcopalian hierarchy anointed the first homosexual Bishop, my brother Charles when asked if he was a Christian would say "No, I am a follower of Jesus Christ".

He would bring this exact subject up in the prison mostly. Just think, just when we think what more could happen to the word Christianity, something even worse pops up.

Lest we forget, the people of Germany during the reign of Adolf Hitler considered Hitler as the god man as equal with Jesus Christ. Yes, it's there in the history of the German Lutheran Church at that time. So this massacre is a microcosm of Hitler's work with the same spirit directing the murderer calling himself a christian in Oslo. Hitler accepted the word messiah from his people.

And while we are at it, what spirit is behind the murder of 70 million Americans in the womb since Roe V.Wade in 1973?

Those 70 million won't be around to help our Christian congress help pay for social security will they?

I only mention these things as a reminder, never to teach in this forum.

Charles passed away at age 85 in Dec 2009.
I just watched this video, it’s long and really challenging. Like you I work and am among many unbelievers who need Jesus and experience His love and acceptance as human beings…through us. I wept in the end repenting of my own bias and tunnel vision. I know we must hold forth the standard of the King and the Kingdom, yet it is not exempt of loving even the unlovable. May we both grow in compassion and love toward all the children of image and likeness of God.

That must be it Carm. I have wrestled with this for quite some time. I have often been hard on myself about it at times and the enemy will start to pile on. We can become reticent or reluctant to just enjoy people in as you say "the full orb of life" because they do not fit in our controlled religious environment. If I feel this way, imagine the unnecessary burden that many carry over this.

Life is so much bigger than the fishbowl. Life is more enjoyable and has much more opportunity if we engage all of life. It's kind of amusing to me to think that many people may perceive the "fishbowl environment" as a very poor option and yet many christians are still trying to get people to jump in the bowl.

Carm, In my early and my mid years in my walk I was known as "Konan the “Evangelist". When the Lord began saving me from myself, I was able to just "be" a Christian and drop corralling the non-Christians. They could then be free and while being free, respect my faith and worried I would go back to my old ways. They saw a difference and were glad. Sure, some dropped me.

The really new thing for me is that I feel "free" like never before. Fruit? God and my wife and encouraging brethren are my fruit inspectors and Jesus checking my "tree" scares me. If the righteous scarcely be saved, what is the outcome of the wicked?

I have limits as to who I can hang out with because it is framed mostly in phileo love. Agape is what I want and it is a struggle to Agape love anyone. That's what is so amazing about Jesus and to be like Him seems a long distance off concerning unconditional love.

But I do feel free like never before as in walking out from under the law and stepping into Grace again. What a feeling. I'm not my workmanship, I'm His workmanship and yes, he chastises me.

I've said enough here. Thanks for listening.
